The Kumbh Mela is one of the auspicious events of Hindu. A mass number of devotees gather from across the globe in Kumbh Mela to take holy bath in the holy rivers of India. It occurs once in 12 years. There are four main places where Kumbh Mela is held; the Prayag Kumbh Mela, Haridwar Kumbh Mela, the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha, and Ujjain Simhastha. These places rotationally hold Kumbh Mela.
The main Kumbh sites are located on the bank of holy rivers. Haridwar Kumbh performs at the bank of river Ganga, The Prayagraj Kumbh performs at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Sarasvati (Sarasvati is not visible now) river. Kumbh in Nashik holds at the bank of Godavari river and Ujjain Kumbh at the bank of Shipra river.

Although bathing during Kumbh regardless of any specific dates considered auspicious, yet according to Hindu Vedic Panchang there are few specific auspicious dates where large numbers of saints and other people take bath.
Following are the holiest dates of Kumbh Snan (Bath) in Prayagraj 2019
Makar Sankranti (15th Jan 2019) (1st Shahi Snan)
Makar Sankranti is also known as Makara Sankranti or Maghi. This is the first day of Kumbh Mela. Makar Sankranti is a festival of deity Surya (Sun). According to the Hindu calendar, this is the first day when the sun transits into the Makara (Capricorn).
Paush Purnima (21st Jan 2019)
Paush Purnima is observed in the Magha month of Hindu calendar. During Magha Mahina, people take an early morning bath in the Ganga or Yamuna river.
Mauni Amavasya (4th Feb 2019) (2nd Shahi Snan)
It is believed that on the date of Mauni Amavasya planetary positions are favorable for bathing in the holy river. The maximum number of pilgrims prefer to take bath on this date.
Basant Panchami (10th Feb 2019) (3rd Shahi Snan)
Basant Panchami is celebrated on the arrival of Basant (Spring). It is the 5th day of spring. Basant Panchami also dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (goddess of knowledge). People wear yellow colored clothes on this day.
Maghi Purnima (19th Feb 2019)
This is the day of the full moon that falls on the month of Magh per Hindu calendar. This is also known for the worship of Guru Brahaspati and it is a belief that Hindu God Gandharva comes from heaven to Sangam.
Mahashivratri (4th March 2019)
This is a day of Lord Shiva or Shankar. This is the last holy bath of Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
